PRESS RELEASE SUBJECT: DENIAL OF INFORMATION (Flight FR4978 ATH – VNO 23-05-21 of Ryanair airline)

The Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (YPA/HCAA) informs that the information that sees the light of day about the alleged information of the Athens International Airport or the Greek authorities about the existence of any threat on the flight of RYANAIR, is completely false, non-existent and completely misleading.

Specifically for the incident of this flight of RYANAIR, the real facts are:

– All the required security checks were carried out, ie passengers, hand luggage and luggage in accordance with the provisions of the approved security program of Athens International Airport and there was no indication of any problem.

– All security procedures were conducted normally and the aircraft left for its destination at 10:15 am. For as long as it was in the Greek FIR there was no report of a threat from the crew, as well as from any other person or entity. 

– There was no information  or indication to the Department of the HCAA, Athens International Airport and the State Aviation Authority of AIA, for the existence of a threat on the specific flight FR4978 ATH to VNO on 23-05-21.

-All the above services  received any relevant information, via the media and the Internet, after the landing of the aircraft in Minsk.
