Responibilities:
- Authorization for the operation of:
a) Scheduled flights by designated non community air carriers.
b) Additional scheduled flights in cases of increased traffic. - Inclusive tour chartered flights to Greece by non community air carriers according to CAA regulation No:D1/A/3945/332/01-02-2008.
- Chartered flights, in exception of the above mentioned regulation, for the transportation of passengers whom their country of origin is Greece.
- Cargo flights from/to Greece, for the transportation of weapons and ammunition.
- Flights for the transportation of dangerous goods by civil planes.
- Flights for photography, filming or advertisement by air.
- Private flights to military airports.
- Overflights and landings of VIP aircrafts.

- Promotion of relations with international and European organizations (such as ICAO, ECAC, EASA, EUROCONTROL, as well as with civil aviation authorities of other states.
- Handling ICAO issues. Coordination of ICAO State Letters.
- Electronic Filing Of Differences on ICAO Annexes (ICAO EFOD).
- Coordination of HCAA Divisions involved in formulating the positions of our administration on issues that are under discussion and/or negotiations by the institutions of the European Union (such as the European Parliament, the Council of the EU).
- Monitoring of the European Union legislation.
- Assessing requests for access to the ICAO (ICAO-NET) limited access website and managing the relative passwords, based on the role taken by the Group Manager (approval, rejection or even removal).
- Monitoring negotiations on multilateral Air Agreements and promoting draft laws for their ratification.
Responsibilities:
- Granting operating licences to air carriers established in Greece and continuing enforcement of the requirements (insurance, financial etc.) for the maintenance of operating licences.
- Handling passengers’ complaints – resolution of disputes between air companies and passengers – and informing passengers of their rights.
- Participation in European and International Meetings, Conventions etc. with agendas that are related to the objectives of the Section.
